Runway Inspired - Treasure

Hello! Back again today with a card for the brand new Runway Inspired challenge!

Here is our amazing inspiration this time around:

Here is my interpretation:

I started off with Winnie and Walter's "True" stamp set. Stamped the heart and colored it with Copics to match the inspiration piece, then stamped the sentiment over the top and heat embossed in black. Added a wavy border on the bottom using Lil' Inker's Border Builder's Die Set, and added some black cardstock underneath. Finished off with some Pretty Pink Posh Clear Sequins!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you'll join us and play along - can't wait to see what you make!

Many Thank Yous for Butterfly Reflections Ink

Good morning! I'm posting this morning over at the Butterfly Reflections Ink Blog to share some thank you cards I made with some new goodies I just received in the mail from Butterfly Reflections Ink

It's also just a few days until the brand new Design Team gals take over - so I wanted to say a BIG thank you to Vanessa as well - I have so enjoyed my time on the team, and am forever a loyal Butterfly Reflections customer! I love the constant update of new stuff in the shop, the quick shipping, the points/rewards system, and the amazing personal touches - the little handwritten note on the packing slip always makes me smile! If you haven't shopped with Butterfly Reflections before, you definitely want to give it a try - I promise you will be glad you did! :-)

So...on to my cards! I had a request for some thank you cards recently, so I thought I would pick a simple layout that would work with them all, and just change each one slightly to make them unique. They needed to be somewhat neutral, so not too feminine - which always makes it a bit more of a challenge! I was also able to use a strip of pattern paper on the side that was the exact dimensions I trim off when make an A2 card front - wonderful way to use up those scraps! The tiny strip of black helps just set it off from the rest of the card. Here are the photos - I'll add the supplies at the bottom:

All my pattern paper came from this darling new Crate Paper 6x6 pad - called Wonder:

I used two Wplus9 stamp sets for the sentiments - first up the brand new Grateful Greetings:

And secondly, Hand Lettered Thanks:

Finally, to get that nice, crisp black print on the sentiments, I used this ink pad, Versafine Onyx Black (absolutely LOVE this ink...just don't use it with Copic markers!):
That's it for me today! Again - a big huge thank you to Vanessa! And everyone else who has left comments over these past few months - thank you to you as well! Have a wonderful day!

Forever is a Long Long Time...Unity Hop and Happy Hour

Good evening!!! I'm joining in to hop with Unity Stamps tonight again sharing a quick card using one of the new releases, paired up with a lovely image from the August Kit of the Month!

Here is the cute new sentiment, Darlin, Things Change:

As soon as I saw this sentiment, my mind hopped to the beautiful girl image in the August Kit of the Month - it's a fabulous one!

I masked a little to fit my sentiment in, then colored it all with watercolors. Die cut with a Wplus9 die, added some sparkly clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh, and some MME woodgrain paper to finish it off.

Make sure and check out this weeks new releases and sales - there are some SUPER cute and fun new holiday releases - you are going to want to check them out for sure! I can't wait to play with those moose...or the owls...or all of it! Who am I fooling? ;)

May Gladness Touch Your Life

Good morning! Stopping by with another card I made a short while back and hadn't had a chance to share yet! Did some playing with a few different techniques on this one:

I used two different Unity stamp sets - Gladness Touch Your Life, and Chicken Wire Background. I stamped and watercolored the image, then applied masking fluid. I then stamped the background over the top, then removed the mask. Added some ink splatters, and die cut it with a Wplus9 die. Added some MME pattern paper and a bit of jute twine to finish it off!

Thanks for dropping by! Have a wonderful day!

The Heart's Memory

Good morning - stopping by to share a card this morning that I made a last week. This sentiment is so meaningful to me as well right now. Last year in September we lost my father-in-law very suddenly and unexpectedly. Yesterday would have been his and my mom-in-law's 40th wedding anniversary. Was talking with my husband last night how it seems that there is some small daily reminder of his dad  even still now - almost a year later. Not a day goes by that we don't both think of him in some way or form. It isn't all sadness, although there is certainly a great deal of that. But he made such a huge impact on all of our lives - and we have so much to be grateful for...as this card says:

I plan on trying to do a video for this technique sometime soon. I used a background from the August Kit of the Month from Unity Stamps on watercolor paper, then used what I will call a "reverse smooshing technique" - basically smudging some MFT dye ink on some acetate, then wetting the paper instead of the acetate, then smooshing it over. I let it dry between each color, and then misted with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in gold. Added some gold thread, a few gold Pretty Pink Posh sequins, matted in some coordinating cardstock, and on a card base which I used Lil' Inker's Cover Up Die: Stitched Woodgrain

Also linking this up with the current CAS-ual Friday's Challenge - Pretty Patterns:

PS SPARKS - Butterfly Celebrate

Good morning! Playing along again with the rest of the DT at Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge - today is the start of a Designer Drafts Challenge!

Here is the card I made:

And here is the fun sketch - love those banners:

I tore some vellum strips to make my banners - wanted a soft effect to layer my butterflies on. Those were die cut from watercolor paper using Butterfly Duet Die, lightly watercolored, then coated with Glossy Accents and Glitter. Sentiment is from Scripty Sayings. Added some wonky stitching, sequins, enamel dots, and a little splattering of Mister Huey's in white to finish off.

Birthday Card for a Reader

Good morning! My daughter celebrated her 12th birthday in June and I hadn't gotten a chance to share my card over here yet - so thought I would drop by and do that now! She is my little reader...I can pretty much guarantee that at any given opportunity she will have her nose buried in a book. And it is indeed a crisis if she runs out of books, and reason enough to make an emergency trip to the library! So when I saw this image in the May 2015 Kit of the Month, I just knew I had to incorporate it onto her birthday card - couldn't have been more perfect! :)

I colored the image in with my Zig watercolor pens, then heat embossed the sentiment on vellum, with the added Happy Birthday from the March 2015 Kit of the Month. Tor some edges, and added some pattern paper from my scrap bin to finish it off!

Oh - and she love it! Whew...sometimes as a mommy who makes cards, I feel like I have to do a super amazing job on my kids birthday cards - they know what I do and are always so excited to see what I make for them! Needless to say, I'm always happy when they are thrilled with whatever I make them! :)

Have a wonderful day everyone! See you soon!

Unity SOTW Reminder - It's a Party

Good morning! I'm posting over on the Unity blog this morning using the current Stamp of the Week. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm sure I send or give more birthday cards than any other kind - so I love this weeks adorable image! Those presents look like they must be filled with something soft and cuddly! :)

Here is a look at the set:

I added a nice thick coat of Glossy Accents to the gifts after I colored them in - LOVE the effect that gives to an image - totally turns it up a notch! Added some Crate Paper pattern paper, a bit of distress inking around the edges, and some ribbon to finish it off!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!

Sly Fox

Good morning! Just dropping by quickly to share a little more detail on another card I made for the new Unity Stamp release a couple days ago - using an adorable new fox stamp (you can see it HERE).

I used my Zig watercolor pens to color it in -  making it nice and bold, and letting the colors run a bit so it was messy! Don't know if the pictures do it any justice, but I also covered it in Wink of Stella - this is one sparkly fox! Added some splatters, a layer of vellum, a tiny clothespin with some jute twine and Baker's Twine, and finished off with some Simple Stories pattern paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Seriously Best News Ever!

Good morning! A brand new challenge starts today at Freshly Made Sketches, celebrating their 200th sketch with a bunch of amazing sponsors - and Lil' Inker Designs is one them! The Lil' Inker's Design Team were invited to play along - so I'm stopping by to share my card with you! :)

Here is the sketch - super simple and open to lots of possibilities, don't you think?

I used the Seriously Word Die (LOVE that one - such a fun font!) and cut it out of shiny silver cardstock. Stamped and heat embossed the rest of my sentiment in white on my torn edge vellum strip using the coordinating stamp set, Seriously Awesome. Finished off with a die cut Stitched Scallop Border, some silver thread tied in a bow, and a few enamel dots. Pattern paper is from an older Crate Paper pad that I have been hoarding for a while because I love it so much! :)

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!

Unity Inspiration Challenge Hop

Good evening!!! Welcome to our second time hopping on Tuesday nights with Unity Stamps tonight we are celebrating the new {be inspired} Challenge - and the new sentiment kit! I made this set of note cards using the sketch - I also have a video showing how to get the perfectly placed bow I have on these cards!

Here is the video - I happened upon this idea when I was wanting to put a bow on the wreath, but didn't want to just glue a bow on, or wrap around the entire front panel. I love how well it worked - and super easy! Let me know what you think! :)

Here is a close up of the different sentiments in this kit - I used 4 of the 5 that are included in the kit:

Here is the new kit - called Everything Comes Full Turn - I'm loving all the possibilities on this one! How fun to add a Christmas sentiment with this one!

It's hard to see in the photos, but I attached the vellum layer to the doily by adding a line of machine stitching around the entire outer edges of the wreath. Vellum can be tricky to attach, and this worked perfectly! The bonus was I could then apply my foam adhesive to the back of the doily to attach it to the card front!

I used Lawn Fawn pattern paper for all my cards, Lil' Inker's Rounded Stitched Rectangles to die cut my vellum panels, and added a little Copic coloring over the sentiment just to help them pop a little. Finished off with a few sparkly clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh!

Make sure and check out this weeks new releases and sales - prices are FALLING at Unity! :)

There is also a fun prize pack for comments left along the hop!
