Happy Girls are the Prettiest - a little catching up

So I ended up getting a bit behind on the MFT Getting Sketchy Challenges - but really liked this sketch, and didn't want to miss it! I kind of took some liberty with the sketch - but I like how it turned out!
Here is the sketch:

This actually came together pretty quickly. I layered some washi tape from Martha Stewart on my pattern paper, trimmed it to the right size for a card background and rounded the top two corners.
Added the sentiment along the bottom - LOVE that sentiment!
Added one of the Pure Innocence girls right above the washi tape, covering where I didn't want stamped with a piece of plain cardstock to protect it.
Finished off with a couple of stick on pearls. Simple and sweet!

Friends with Flair - Adoption wall art

I have a very special Unity Friends with Flair post for today! A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to get a fun prize pack from Unity Stamp company, and in it was the new set - Born in my Heart - full of adoption sentiments! I was so excited about this, because my older brother and his wife are in the process of adopting a little girl from Ethiopia. The process has been long and trying, but they are getting lower on the wait list, and beginning to feel the anticipation more and more as the day grows closer.

(Edited to add: in the past week or two things have taken a turn...my brother has been out of work, and since he hasn't yet gotten full time employment, they have been dropped by their adoption agency. They are appealing the decision, but also know that the Lord has called them to adopt, so one way or the other, adoption is in their future. I know they would appreciate your prayers in this time of heartbreak!)

So...I wanted to make a little gift for my sis-in-law, and my new someday niece! Even though I had the idea in my head for a long time, it took me a while to actually accomplish it, but here is the result of that effort:
I used my Cricut and Elegant Edges cartridge to cut the frame, embossed the top of it with my Cuttlebug, and inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink. Stamped the sentiment on the bottom, added some stick on pearls, and tied some jute twine from Ribbon Carousel around it, topped off with a PTI button.
The silhouette was then cut with A Child's Year, and I inked the edges of that as well, before attaching it with foam adhesive to the frame. Finished off by inking the edges of the pink background paper with matching Tim Holtz distress ink to finish it off.
I just love this beautiful sentiment! Soooo true...can't wait to meet my new little niece (Chloe) when she arrives - and praying for her now until the time comes!

Mother's Day Teacup #2

Hello and welcome back! Here is the second teacup I made for Mother's Day - this one was for my Mom:
Pretty similar information I guess - the teacup, flowers, and leaves were cut with my Silhouette Cameo, and cut files from the Silhouette store.
Inked the edges of the leaves and teacup with Tim Holtz distress ink, then added Glossy Accents and Martha Stewart chunky glitter along the rim of the teacup for some sparkle and shine!
Wrapped up chocolate in tulle, tucked it inside the teacup with a doily behind it, tied a big bow and added a stick pin and a resin flower to the center of the bow.
And I don't know if I added yesterday or not - but I also put some American Crafts white lace around the teacup - just because it felt like it needed it!

Anyway - thanks for stopping by again!

Mother's Day Teacup #1 (A little past due in posting!)

I know...this is WELL past the time I should have posted it - but life happened and I never got around to it! But...it is nice to have this to share while we are moving and I don't have time to craft - so I guess it's okay anyway! This actually the one I made for my mom-in-law - I'll share the other one that I made for my mom tomorrow!
I used my Silhouette Cameo, and a cut file from the Silhouette store for the teacup, and for the flowers and leaves.
Inked the edges of each leaf and the teacup with Tim Holtz distress ink, then used some Glossy Accents and Martha Stewart coarse glitter along the top edge to add a little glam and glitter!
Finished off by wrapping some chocolates in some tulle, tucking them inside the teacup with a doily behind them (you can barely see it in the picture above) and added a stick pin and resin flower in the center of the tulle bow.
Okay - I'll see you back here tomorrow with the second one!

Pocket full of birthday wishes

Hi there! Hopefully these are continuing to auto-post successfully while we are moving! This is a card I actually made a LONG time ago and never got around to posting! I was lucky enough to win this entire release from Emma over at My Creative Time, and this is one of the projects I made right away when I received them:
I used some October Afternoon papers from a couple of different collections.
Did a bit of paper-piecing for the hearts, and added some faux stitching in a couple of places.
The green ribbon is some October Afternoon trim, and the lace is from Ribbon Carousel - I just can't get enough of that stuff!
All the edges are inked with Tim Holtz distress ink.
And the pocket and front panel are attached with foam adhesive.
Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world! Can't wait get back to crafting again!

Unity Stamps card set

Hello! This time around for Unity Friends with Flair, I'm sharing a card set that I made this past Spring! Still can't believe I never shared them, but I think it had something to do with the fact that I was never really happy with the pictures I was able to get of them. Oh well - I'll share them today anyway! I made them as a gift set for a gift exchange I went too. Just used images from a Unity Stamp set, colored them with Copics, added a stamped sentiment in a coordinating color, then matted them on solid cardstock. Finished off by applying Glossy Accents to the top of each colored image, then wrapped matching Baker's twine around each card, and attached to kraft card bases. The first picture is of the whole set, then I have a close up of each one afterwards:

Make sure and hop along with Friends with Flair and join in the fun!

Baby shower invites

Silly me! Can't believe that I hadn't shared these on here before! These are the baby shower invitation that a friend and I got together and made for another friends baby shower to welcome her little boy, Wyatt. A name like that just begged for a cowboy these - so that is what we did!
Since we needed about 25 of them, we tried to keep them pretty simple. Used a silhouette from A Child's Year, cut with some October Afternoon paper. Used my Cuttlebug to emboss a background, then inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink.
Finished off with a sentiment from My Favorite Things and one of the Pure Innocence sets, and a bit of Baker's Twine tied around the top of the stick horse.

A little guest designer - my oldest daughter!

Good morning! I'm so happy to share with you a couple of cards made by a very special guest designer - my oldest daughter, Katie! I have to say I am very proud of her - she completely came up with the ideas for these cards - design, sentiment, and all! Here is her first one - she used a sticker (the ice cream), some ribbon she bought from Michaels, some older paper scraps, and some Cosmo Cricket tiny alphas for her sentiment:
For her next card, she raided my garbage can by my scrap area (my kids do that ALL the time!) She took the negative of one of my Cricut cuts, traced it onto the paper she wanted, and hand cut it out. She then used a scrap that I had stamped with a Unity sentiment and not used, some more of her ribbon, and a couple of stick on pearls from my stash.
She has been begging me to share these with my blog readers - so leave her a comment and let her know what you think! I will make sure and share it with her - and she will be delighted to hear your comments! Thanks so much!

I am also linking this up with this week Simon Says Stamp Challenge - For Kids!

Puppy love and kisses

Hello! I'm sharing a card for today's Unity Friends with Flair that I made as a special order, and actually trying to repeat a card I had made previously. A sweet gal had purchased the original on Etsy, and wanted me to make something similar for her again. So...here it is - almost identical, but I think my Copic coloring skills have grown a bit since the original (at least I'm slowly learning!)
I used an adorable Phyllis Harris image (which happens to have a few new releases this weekend...hint, hint!) and colored her with Copics.
The background paper is from October Afternoon, and I used a bit of Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen on the edges of the white to help it blend a bit better.
Finished off with some jute twine from Ribbon Carousel, and a button from my stash.
So glad you stopped by to visit today! Have a wonderful Friday and great weekend!

Final Peachy Peek detail...

Things are pretty crazy in our household at the moments as we are now days away from moving. Yesterday I officially packed my scrappy goodies...and will get them out again when we get to Wyoming and settled, so probably not for the better part of the next couple of weeks at least. I actually hadn't had time for several days to play, but kept hoping I might be able to squeeze in a few minutes - then finally realized I might as well just put it all away! So...you probably won't see anything newly created from me for a bit, although I do have a few previously un-posted projects that I have scheduled over the next couple of weeks! Anyway - here is the last of my Peachy Keen Sneak Peek projects - and some more info on it!
And speaking of new releases...in case you didn't see them yet, here are the entire sets! This was such a fun and adorable release - as always!!!

For this card I used the schoolhouse image from the new Kit of the Month, stamped it on pattern paper, and colored with Copics.
All of my pattern paper is from an October Afternoon 8x8 paper pad - Sidewalks.
I distressed all the edges of my papers with a Tim Holtz distress tool, then inked them with Tim Holtz distress ink.
Stamped the sentiment, then added the word "DAYS" with some October Afternoon sticker letters.
The kraft paper behind the main image was also run through my paper crimper, and I added some lace and jute twine from Ribbon Carousel, as well as a button from my stash.
Thanks for stopping by to see me! Once I get moved and settled, I'm planning a giveaway - so make sure and stay tuned! Hopefully the stuff I have to giveaway survives the move!

Moving Sale Paper Pad Winner!!!

I'm running a little late this morning (overslept!) - but wanted to announce the winner of the October Afternoon Paper pad from my Moving Sale! I received 4 orders that wanted to be in the running for the paper pad. Three of the four ordered single items, and the fourth ordered 8 items, so I'm afraid the odds were a bit in her favor! So...the winnner is Sarah! Congrats Sarah! And I am shipping all items this morning - so you should all receive your goodies soon!

There are still some items available - and I will leave them there for this week, but when the moving vans show up next week, I'm packing them away for the move!

Have a wonderful day!!!

MFT Getting Sketchy #83 - Connected

Hi there! This is for this weeks MFT Getting Sketchy Challenge #83. I've missed a couple of weeks lately, but managed to get this made the other day! It took me all day, a few minutes here and there, but I got it done! Here is what I made:
And here is this weeks sketch:

I pulled out some Echo Park papers I hadn't used yet - the 6x6 Sweet Day paper pad.
Colored the little girl with Copics on a circle cut with my Spellbinders Nestabilities, and set it on top  of a doily I tinted with some Tim Holtz distress ink.
Used a MFT Die-namic for the paper doll cuts, and curled the sentiment on my clear block before stamping to make it fit the circle.
Added some Baker's Twine, and a tiny pearl, and called it simple and good enough!
Just a reminder - if there is anything you wanted to pick up from my Moving Sale, click HERE or on the tab above titled CRAFTY STUFF FOR SALE - I will be drawing a winner from orders placed for the paper pad at about 8 AM Pacific time - and I will check my email before I choose, so there is still time at a chance to win some brand new October Afternoon paper!
